The producer of the moment, Mark Ronson got official approval to do a Bob Dylan Remix.

The latest track to receive the Ronson treatment is Bob Dylan’s Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine) from his classic LP Blonde on Blonde. August 1st sees the global premiere of the track, tune into Zane Lowe on Radio 1 to hear it.

This is the first time a hip hop or dance music record producer has been allowed to remix one of Dylan’s songs. Says Ronson, “I’m a huge Dylan fan, so it’s a great honour”.

Gnarls the Sequal

Gnarls Barkley

I found this at Giant Step’s website:

Cee-Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley told Billboard that the duo (with partner Danger Mouse) will be delivering their second album by December of 2007. However, in contrast St. Elsehere, Gnarls will refrain from any promotion or tour (!).

Cee-Lo preached, “Gnarls is something we want to salvage. It’s not to be exploited or auctioned off to the highest bidder. It will be revered and sought after. Somebody from my generation has to be the Dylan and Tom Waits - these iconic figures who never exploit themselves or stretch themselves too thin.”

I found this from Urb.com. Super Producer Mark Ronson and Straight No Chaser Cover Girl Tawiah tore it up in New York for Mark Ronson Album Release Party. Tawiah also appears on new Gilles Peterson Brownswood Bubblers V2. The article also features another cool artist by name of Valentina

Note: Straight No Chaser has only one issue left to publish

Lab Update: Guest Mix from Pursuit Grooves

July 14, 2007 | 1 Comment

Pursuit Grooves

We got a special show this weekend. Brooklyn Producer/DJ Pursuit Grooves has blessed up with a mix. You definitely do not want to miss this. She has a album called ‘Fun Like Passion’ and it is sick.

If anyone is going to be in Minneapolis in next few weekends, we got some events you should check out. The first event is our Rhythm Lab Live event on July 20th. Performing will be Los Nativos(Rhymesayers), Toki Wright, Pee Wee Dread, and on the wheels of steel Derrick DeLite and Rhythm Lab’s Don Cuco at the Kitty Kat Club. I will not be there because I will be DJing in Milwaukee with my 88Nine RadioMilwaukee cohort Marcus at the Jackalop Lounj.

Speaking of Don Cuco, my partner in crime will be moving to Brooklyn along with his girl Sarah White(NYC show some love). Don’t worry he will be still doing the show (with the help of this thing called the internet). So in honor of him moving, there will be a going away party at Foundation nightclub in Minneapolis featuring Rich Medina on July 29th. So come on down and show your love. We will all be there plus special guests DJ Retroblast and theDeviousOne. More information to come…
